Wow, what a year!!! It has been nothing short of a whirlwind!! We always knew 2021 was going to be a bit rocky, starting the year in lockdown with so many questions over what would weddings this year look like! With everyone holding their breath, the first few months of the year were spent reassuring clients and working on plan b’s, c’s and d’s to cover every eventuality!! My first wedding in May was a stunning but small affair at the lovely Hall Farm. A brightly coloured tipi by the lake was exactly what everyone needed to lift their spirits. After that the weddings then came thick and fast! With marquees being the order of the day for most of my clients, it meant it was fairly easy to adapt layouts to the capacity and other government restrictions for weddings in the early part of the summer. Nonetheless, I won’t lie, the additional paperwork and adaptations needed to make weddings possible was an enormous extra workload! My first wedding in June without restrictions on the number of guests was incredibly emotional! I cried all the way home! Having spent 18months planning it with my fabulous couple and their family it was a relief that we finally got them down the aisle to become Mr & Mrs, it was also happiness that so many of their family and friends travelled to support them and sadness that I no longer got to work with them, but boy! What A Day!!

Despite the weather this summer not being the best, we still had some absolutely fabulous weddings and celebrations. Seeing me travel across the breadth of Norfolk, from the gorgeous Barn Drift at Cley, to Voewood, Happy Valley, Thurning Hall, Holkham Hall and numerous other private properties. Each wedding was uniquely special and beautiful in its own way. One of the highlights of my job (if you can call it that hahaha!) is without a doubt my clients, getting to know them and their families, seeing their ideas woven into a wedding day, representative of them and experiencing their elation when they are finally married.

With many of the weddings this year actually being parties to celebrate the small legal ceremonies which took place in 2020 it was an unprecedented year for babies to be involved as well! This called for extra planning details to make sure timings worked with baby naps and feeding schedules, that there was space for babies to be changed, a quiet area for napping and the layouts allowed for pushchair access.

As well as delivering more weddings in a year than I have ever done before, I have been organising more proposals (which I love!), I launched the Wedding Blueprint planner with with wonderful Suzanne @silkandink, I finally published my book, I have been made an Elite member of the UKAWP, I was honoured to become a Judge for the TWIA’s, I have two brand new venues I am working exclusively with, I have been published in Love My Dress, and I have completed my first Mastermind, learning so much and putting an emphasis on growing my business and personal development.
