The Best Marquee Wedding Venues in Norfolk

Marquees are such a versatile way of creating the wedding venue of your dreams. They offer so much flexibility for you to get creative and really bring your personality into your celebration. For this blog have compiled a list of the best marquee wedding venues in Norfolk. If you are looking for a weekend wedding venue, a stately house venue or a festival wedding venue read on for some of my favourites! Quite often marquee venues have slightly different restrictions to bricks and mortar venues so always do your research and double check all the details before committing. Here are my top picks for the best Marquee Wedding Venues Norfolk has to offer:

Holkham Hall’s Walled Garden.

Hidden in a quiet, secluded corner of the impressive Holkham Hall is a walled garden which is the perfect marquee wedding venue. Surrounded by rustic, red brick walls and ancient flower beds, beautifully tended by the gardening team at Holkham, you have complete privacy to create a celebration exactly how you want. Being fully contained in the walled garden it is great for a family celebration as children can easily be kept an eye-on. The Walled Garden is tucked away from the visiting tourists so you get a real level of privacy and seclusion. Also on site you have the added bonus of the stunning Marble Hall for a licensed ceremony or The Temple for smaller ceremonies – both of which offer grand backdrops to complete your elegant marquee based wedding day.

Hall Farm Horning.

This is one of my personal favourites in Norfolk! As an exclusive-use complex of self-catering cottages, Hall Farm has masses to offer. This Norfolk wedding venue is perfect for celebrations where you have a large contingent travelling to celebrate with you. Hall Farm has accommodation for 44 guests, all on site in their self-catering cottages. Set in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, there are fabulous views as far as the eye can see. Being licensed for ceremonies you have your pick of where you want to say your vows – the Barn, by the lake or on the water meadow with views of the river. With two different marquee sites to pick from you also have bags of opportunity to put your stamp on your day, both with stunning countryside views. But what Hall Farm really lends itself to is for creating a weekend long wedding celebration! Having all your friends and family in one place is such a great opportunity to really catch up and spend some quality time with your friends and family.

Thurning Hall.

Set in a quiet corner of Norfolk with stunning countryside views, the Georgian Thurning Hall is truly a hidden gem. Licensed for ceremonies inside the beautiful period property or in the walled, rose garden you are completely spoilt for choice. Outside there is ample space for a marquee of your choice. The enormous walled garden at Thurning offers a private, self-contained area for your festivities while the grounds give your photographer oodles of backdrops for some stunning couple shots. Having been the setting for various period BBC dramas, Thurning Hall is definitely one for the whimsical bride who wants a nod to heritage in he day! As far as a blank canvas goes, this is a great option for a marquee wedding venue in Norfolk.

College Farm

If rural Norfolk is your thing then this is perfect! Complete with a menagerie of alpacas, llamas, chickens and pygmy goats and views across arable farmland as far as the eye can see, College Farm is perfect for you. Hidden away in the tiniest village College Farm itself is steeped in history, once being a college for local priests and still being run by the family who owned it in the 1300’s. With 15acres of land for you to create your wedding you are spoilt for choice for your marquee site. There is ample space for a glamping village as well so if a weekend long wedding festival is your vibe then this is the Norfolk wedding venue for you. The Farm itself also boasts B&B rooms, perfect for visiting relatives. There is even a Pingo in the grounds which makes a perfect backdrop to your vows – if you don’t know what that olde Norfolk term means go look it up : ).

Mannington Hall

My final top choice for a marquee wedding venue in Norfolk would be Mannington Hall. This historic family home has beautiful grounds which lend themselves perfectly to a traditional marquee wedding. With the hall itself as a backdrop, and beautifully curated gardens, the views are really very special, yet another photographer’s dream! You can say your vows within the Hall’s ground beyond the moated garden. There is even a hidden ruin which is yet another fabulous backdrop for your couple shots.
