Lovely Emily and Shane, came to me in 2019 to help them plan their lovely marquee wedding at the stunning Barn Drift. They had already booked this unique dry hire venue and knew they needed help with the rest of their wedding plans, particularly as they would be requiring a marquee for their guest numbers. Barn Drift is a wonderful venue right on the North Norfolk coast, with luxurious accommodation and views of the salt marshes, fields and sea, it is certainly one that’s hard to beat in Norfolk. This was a wedding planned to be in 2020 but Covid had other plans! So working with this wonderful couple and their families for an extra year meant I really got to know them even better and when their wedding finally did come around, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Midsummer Wedding

This was a heartfelt, Norfolk midsummer wedding that took place over one weekend, bringing in hues of blue, which was an important colour element to Emily. Throughout the wedding, shades of blue can be seen from the stunning bridesmaids’ outfits (all chosen by the bridesmaids themselves in different styles), to the stunning floral arrangements designed and put together by Constance Rose.

Blue bridesmaids

Beautiful Emily, was dressed in a contemporary white gown with her hair & makeup carefully styled by Danielle Christina, creating that lovely natural and beautiful look. Shane did his bride proud in a stunning blue suit to highlight the overall theme of blue and countryside. Unfortunately, Shane had to accompany his outfit with a walking cane on the wedding day as he managed to break part of his foot the day before!!

Dog at Wedding

This was my first post covid wedding and for many of the family and friends, this was the first time seeing each other after 18 months of separation. Family and friends (some of whom, travelled from Ireland) gathered before the gorgeous floral arch that framed Emily and Shane as they said their vows, during a very sentimental outside wedding ceremony against a backdrop of the North Norfolk coast.

The happy couple made their way back down the aisle hand in hand whilst their guests cheered them on throwing handfuls of confetti at the smiling couple.

Wedding Marquee

Moving from the reception, the guests made their way to the marquee which we had designs around the midsummer theme. With lashings of seasonal flowers and tall birch trees, blank canvas was transformed into a countryside venue. The guests were greeted with many lovely personal elements, making it even more special.

Romantic Couple Shots

Emily and Shane were able to take time to themselves (or almost) as they and photographer Stuart Wood travelled down to the Norfolk coast in their vintage Land Rover which had been decorated spectacularly. They were able to spend some time as the sun set taking their photos against the back drop of the sea.

The guests sat down to their incredibly fresh platters of seafood catered by the talented Bayfield Catering team, filling the platters with freshly caught fish and shellfish (caught that morning) before they enjoyed the beautiful buttercream cake designed and carefully decorated with the same florals that can be seen throughout the wedding by Sugar Buttons Cakes.

The guests spent the rest of their joyful evening dancing to the stunning disco with music provided by Epic Event Hire outside (following covid restrictions) under the beautiful midsummer night’s sky and munching on freshly cooked fish and chips!
